Founding Sponsor

Patient Advisor

As a stroke survivor with spastic hemiparesis, our founding sponsor's firsthand experience with the inadequacy of existing devices inspired the creation of Hemi-Hand. They continue to guide the project as our primary patient advisor.

Hemi-Hand, Inc. is an independent non-profit corporation. The device originated in a capstone project at Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering, and some team members are current Dartmouth students or alumni, but Hemi-Hand is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Dartmouth College.

Why We Chose Non-Profit

Our decision to operate as a non-profit reflects our core belief that access to rehabilitation should not be determined by ability to pay.

Increased Access

Our non-profit status allows us to distribute according to need, not profitability, increasing accessibility for all patients.

Patient-Focused R&D

Every dollar goes toward improving patient outcomes rather than maximizing returns. Our focus is and always will be patient care.
